The goller brewery is now embarking on the project of uncovering the city wall in the area of the beer garden. The fourth phase of the comprehensive remodeling will start in mid october, according to a company press release.
The goller company has already made some structural changes on its site on the edge of the old town. In the spring of 2016, the entrance to the parking lot has been renewed. The entrance area and parts of the main corridor in the brewery guesthouse, as well as the "schutzenzimmer" and the "stadtmauerstubla" are not available in the brewery guesthouse have been redesigned. And now on monday, 16. October, the fourth and, for the time being, the last stage of the reconstruction project in the "old freyung".
New sanitary facilities
An extension to the restaurant building is to create sufficient space for new toilet facilities. In addition to new ladies’ and men’s rooms’ toilets, a disabled toilet will be built for the first time in the goller brewery restaurant, completing the concept of a barrier-free restaurant.
In addition, the demolition of the bowling alley building at the beer garden will now take place in the fall. This will reveal the city wall behind it – and the beer garden will become more coarse. The wall is to be built in the same way as the inner part of the city wall in the "stadtmauer-stubla" to be restored and staged by passive lighting.
According to goller, the toilet facilities in the brewery guesthouse will not be available during the forthcoming renovation work. As a substitute, a toilet container will be installed in front of the entrance to the restaurant in speiersgasse.
Parking lots remain open
In addition, access to the guest rooms via the guest house parking lot is not possible during the construction work. Access via the entrance in speiersgasse will not be impaired. The parking lot, however, will continue to be available as a parking area.
